Getting started
- Open Word Mystery and choose New player.
- Pick a player name. Use a made-up nickname, not your real name.
- Tap Start playing.
Usernames must be 3–16 characters, start with a letter, and use only letters, numbers, and underscores (_).
Common questions
How do I log back in?
Choose Log in and enter a username whose security credentials are still available to this app installation. Usernames are matched without uppercase letters, so capitals don’t matter.
Can I use my username on a different device or after reinstalling?
Not currently. For security, each username is tied to credentials created on the original device and app installation. Those credentials may not be available after reinstalling. If they are lost, create a new username; account recovery is not available yet.
How do I change my username?
Tap your username at the top of the game to open the Player screen. Under Change username, enter a new made-up nickname and tap Save username.
How do I switch to a different player?
Tap your username at the top of the game, then tap Switch player and confirm Log out. You can log in again later with any username saved on this device.
How do I delete my account?
Tap your username at the top of the game, then tap Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes the username and its saved server data, and can’t be undone. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Does uninstalling the app delete my account?
No. Use Delete account in the app before uninstalling if you want the server-side username and security record removed. If you have already lost access, contact support with the username and device details.
Where is my win streak saved?
Your streak is saved on your device, separately for each player. It isn’t stored on our servers, so deleting the app or deleting your account removes it.
A word or clue won’t load
Word Mystery needs an internet connection to sign in and to fetch words and clues. Check that your device is online, then try again.
I can’t sign in
Make sure you’re online and using the device where you created the username. If it still doesn’t work, email us with your username and device model.
A clue seems wrong or confusing
Clues are written by AI and checked against rules that keep them short, factual, and suitable for a broad audience. AI can still make mistakes. If you see a clue that’s wrong or inappropriate, email us the word and the clue so we can improve it.
